BIT

Chipotle

Chipotle is the greatest fast-casual restaurant of all time. Hands down.

My wife and I—for longer than we probably should have—seriously considered catering our wedding rehearsal dinner and/or reception with Chipotle.

While we wouldn’t have been disappointed, we trusted our better instincts that our family and friends may not have been equally excited for nuptials accompanied by a fast-casual burrito bowl.

However, how many weddings do you remember exactly what was served for dinner at the reception? I guarantee you would never forget the wedding where they served Chipotle.

It’s not just me who loves Chipotle so deeply.

In 2014, a young boy, Roy Murray, went viral on the now-defunct Vine for saying “I love Chipotle. Chipotle is my life” when enjoying his burrito bowl. You can watch the 6-second video by clicking the “Watch on YouTube” below.

If you are wondering, exactly what was in that kid’s bowl? See the quote below for the specific ingredients. In a partnership with Chipotle in 2021, there was a limited edition run of the “Chipotle Is My Life” Bowl to pay homage to this iconic moment.

Double white rice, black beans, chicken, tomatillo-red salsa, roasted chili-corn salsa, sour cream, and cheese

Virtual machines

I find the term virtual machine confusing. I find calling it a digitized computer less so. That’s essentially what a virtual machine is—a computer inside a computer. Like a dream inside a dream—remember Inception? Thankfully, virtual machines are not as confusing.

Cloud computing providers allow for multiple users to create virtual machines from their physical servers.

Benefits of cloud-based virtual machines include scalability, portability, reliability, and faster provisioning.

ACADEMIC MUSING

Illegitimi non carborundum

For when the going gets tough, Dr. Anthony Fauci has a mantra. It’s a pseudo-Latin phrase (translation in the quote below) that he learned while attending the Jesuit-run Regis High School.

It’s with this motto he served as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases from 1984-2022.

While I don’t know if this phrase was part of Marcus Aurelius’ Meditations, you might just want to give “Illegitimi non carborundum” a try to come off as more cultured and stoic in your academic life.

To get your weekend started right, I leave you with Rihanna’s “Cheers (Drink to That).” The song features the English translation in its chorus. You can watch the music video by clicking the “Watch on YouTube” below.

“Don’t let the bastards grind you down.”
